Creating A World In Which Data Breaches Are Improbable, Not Inevitable

Recently, one of the folks on my team shared the news about the latest Microsoft breach, in which power apps had caused some data leaks. On the same day, we heard that T-Mobile suffered a data breach. So, my first reaction was, “Ah, it’s just another day in cybersecurity.”

Stepping back, we need to recognize that we can’t prevent attacks from happening because the bad guys will always find clever new ways to strike. Of course, cyberattacks present a huge concern across America and all over the world. Part of the problem with our mindset stems from our increasing numbness to the proliferation of these breaches because they happen so often. But instead of being discouraged by so many attacks, we should try to learn from them.
